All About Booties

Since it is winter, this blog post is dedicated to my favorite kind of shoes; boots and booties. This season I have really become obsessed with everything booties. Over Christmas break I bought an additional 3 pairs to add to my collection.

My all time favorite pair of booties are this pair of glittered back booties. I first found this pair of shoes on Pinterest and thought they were amazing. I searched online everywhere to find these shoes with no luck. I went home one weekend to go shopping and hang out with my mom when on my way out of town my GPS took me a different way to the highway. This route took me straight by DSW so I figured it was fate and I had to stop in. To my surprise right there on the sale rack were my gold glitter booties very similar to the ones that I had found on Pinterest. Below is a picture comparing the two pairs of shoes. These are a perfect way to jazz up an outfit and add a surprise in the back. These shoes can be worn with denim, colored pants, skirts, shorts, literally anything.

Recently one of my calendar shoes were this pair of Diego Dolcini satin stiletto pumps.

I loved the detailing on the shoe and especially going down the heel. Last summer I got a pair of shoes (seen below) with detailing along the heel as well. Why I got these shoes and where I will ever wear them is beyond me. I always imagine myself moving to New York and living this super glamorous life and wearing all these clothes that I could never wear in my college town Stillwater Oklahoma. I just had been admiring this pair of shoes for a year before I finally found them on sale. I have only worn them a couple times and I have never gotten the chance to wear them out in public but every time I look at them I just am reminded of the life I want to live.

Now I just need to learn how to walk in heels...

Day 1.

As the classic Disney tale Cinderella shows, it is really all about the shoes. That is how Prince Charming found his Princess after all. I firmly believe this. There is nothing better than a great pair of shoes.

As simple as shoes are, they really can make the difference in an outfit. A great pair of shoes can pull together an outfit based on the colors, textures or even heel height or it can turn an outfit into a complete mess.

I used to believe that the size of my feet shifted based on the shoes I wanted to wear. Some days I would be a 5.5 and others I would be a size 8. I have realized that no matter how cute a shoe is, you must get it in the right size (obvious, I guess you could say). 

The first day of the new year means starting my new calendar. Todays shoe is a platform ankle boot that is made out of metallic leather. What better way to start off the new year than with metallic shoes. Metallic was a trend seen in 2013 in every style from heels, to booties, even Tom's created metallic shoes.
