Girls Life

So I've kind of dropped off the face of the blogging world now that my internship is over. I have just been so busy moving back to Stillwater, going to Vegas, starting classes and getting back into the swing of everything.

While I may not update my blog as much as I was able to this past summer keep your eyes out for some of my favorite trends to rock this fall! And if you are ever bored and need a quick fix of Jill here are all my articles I wrote during my internship with Girls Life:

Final Outfits

Well here it is: my final week at Girls Life outfits. As I have said many times before, this experience has opened my eyes to so many different things. For anyone looking for an internship in the fashion industry a few tips from yours truly:

1. Don't limit yourself- Apply anywhere and everywhere. Don't have your heart set on one place or one industry because there is a lot you will be missing out on. You never know what you really like until you give it a try
2. Sometimes bigger isn't always better- Take it from me, I had so many more opportunities at Girl's Life than I would have had at a top magazine or big designer. I got to go to a total of 7 photo shoots including a cover shoot, write for the website, and even got to style a model for an advertisement being featured in the magazine. Also, working for a smaller staff you have to pleasure of getting to know everyone so well.
3. Be open to new experiences- I hated and I mean HATED Baltimore for the first couple of weeks but once I forced myself to open up and get to know the other interns, my experience became 1000% better!
And finally
4. Go somewhere new- Like I said, I hated Baltimore at the beginning of my internship but moving to an unfamiliar city where I knew no one forced me to break out of my comfort zone. I may not every live in Baltimore (knock on wood) but I am so happy I got to meet the girls I did and have found friends I can keep in touch with. An internship is the perfect opportunity to get to know yourself and a new city because on the bright side, if you don't love it there- at least it is only for a short time. I at least learned that I can't be so far away from my family, which has lead me to start my job search in Dallas. Had I not been able to intern at GL I would still have my heart set on New York (WAY too far away from my friends and family).

While it's been a fun summer getting to dress up I can't say I am excited to return to my nike shorts and extra large uniform for classes. Thanks for taking this journey with me readers.

Week 11

Only one week left of my internship and I can hardly believe it. This week was crazy. I got to go to the October/November cover shoot for Girls Life and meet the celebrity who was going to be on the cover. It was incredible. That night I went to New York with some other interns to an event and on Thursday I got to assist with another photo shoot in York, PA. I couldn't have asked for a better internship. I got so many opportunities that I would not have been able to do had I been at a different internship.

Girl's Life has been such a blessing and I can't say enough great things about it. Anyways, enough about me gushing how great my internship is... here is my week 11 outfits!
